I want to first thank you for your continued trust in the leadership of the Tulsa Chapter, and for allowing me to guide this amazing Chapter for this next year. I also want to thank our outgoing President, Johnny Onkst, for his dedicated leadership over the last 2 years. Under his direction, this Chapter has made tremendous strides in connecting with our members by providing FM focused events. A huge thank you is due to our talented board members without whom IFMA Tulsa could not thrive and grow. Denise Thornton, VP; Brian Bennett, Treasurer and Chapter Administrator; Tony Lenox, Membership/Sponsorship; Ken Basden, Secretary; Qi Moss, Education; Carolyn Price, Social, Young Professional; Scott Mitchell, Wade Bell, Golf Tournament; Travis Ingle, Greg Neas, Hospitality; Autumn Everett, Kendra Dickson, Programs; Susan Justice, Media and Communications; Javier Pollack and Tom Falabella, Strategy. I am fortunate to work with such a wonderful group and call them friends.
Welcome to IFMA Tulsa, we are group of member professionals dedicated to professional growth and development, driving educational content through monthly programs, industry best practices and IFMA Credentialing as well as connecting with the communities we live and work in. Our monthly programs are held the last Thursday of each month at our “home base”, the Tulsa Country Club, 701 N. Union Ave. Tulsa.
IFMA Tulsa offers a variety of events throughout the year to engage with peers and have some fun such as: we annually celebrate and recognize outstanding member contributions and outstanding member companies; we host the annual IFMA Golf Tournament where members, sponsors and players enjoy a day on the links raising proceeds for local charities and student IFMA chapters. October is a busy month for IFMA as we celebrate after hours at one of the country’s top German festivals IFMA@Oktoberfest. Be prepared to enjoy networking, fine local biers and a chicken dance or two! Have you ever attended IFMA World Workplace? This event is held each October and this year is held on October 16-18, in Phoenix, Arizona. Register early for this event! Because I’m so passionate about professional development, here’s what happens if you DON’T attend: You won’t learn about new facilities management concepts and technologies to make your life easier, you’ll miss out on networking and creating connections with smart FM’s like yourself, you’ll miss out on seeing the latest problem solving products in the expo hall, you pass up on opportunities to network with the industry’s leading experts and knowledgeable manufacturers. As you can see, being an FM in 2019 is guaranteed to be an exciting time!
I thank you for your involvement in this great Chapter, and I look forward to an exciting year of growth ahead!
