How do you recognize an individual that has meant so much to your chapter? Someone who has been there from day one. Someone who agreed to be chapter President several times because no one else would take the responsibility. Someone who took on the responsibility of overseeing an IFMA student chapter in a city two hours away from Tulsa (if you’re driving the speed limit).
Someone who took over the IFMA Tulsa chapter’s efforts to raise scholarship monies for that student chapter. Someone who came to that student chapter’s rescue when the university was on the verge of dropping the facility management related curriculum. The answer that the Executive Board of IFMA Tulsa came up with was…You name your major scholarship to that university’s IFMA student chapter after that member.
At the conclusion of IFMA Tulsa’s Chapter of the Year celebration, President Carl Vincent announced that the $2000.00 scholarship given each year to an Oklahoma State University IFMA student chapter member would hereby be known as the Ted D. Webb Facility Management and Design Scholarship. The first Ted D. Webb scholarship will be presented in April 2008 at the annual Oklahoma State University College of Human Environmental Sciences Celebration of Excellence dinner.
Ted, an employee of Mazzio’s Corporation, was subsequently honored at a recent Mazzio’s Franchise Meeting with a donation of $1000.00 from the Mazzio’s Executive Committee for the Tulsa IFMA chapter OSU scholarship fund.
Thanks to Mazzio’s for their generous contribution and thank you Ted for all your efforts for the IFMA OSU student chapter members. Congratulations Ted!
