Ted Webb Memorial Fund gets a Boost

At the February 2012 meeting, a tribute was paid to our chapter's main founder, the late Ted D. Webb. Mark Faulkenberry with Western Farmers Electric Cooperative was on hand to present the chapter with a check for $2500.00 to go towards the Ted D. Webb Memorial Fund.

The funds were raised through donations made by WFEC employees. Ted have been heavily involved in working with WFEC and promoting their value-based energy program.

The memorial fund was started when Mazzio's, Ted's employer at the time of his death, asked Ted's family if there was a way they could honor Ted by making a donation. The family replied that their preference would be to donate money in Ted's name to the IFMA Tulsa chapter. This resulted in the chapter receiveing $1295.00 in donations from a variey of Mazzio's employees. That, combined with the $120.00 donated by IFMA Tulsa chapter members, along with the $2500.00 received from Mark, puts the total donated to date at $3915.00.

OSU's Dr. Paulette Hebert, PhD has recently approached the chapter about funding a new facility management class at OSU and the IFMA Tulsa chapter board has agreed to apply the donated monies towards funding this new class with the blessing of Ted's family. This new class will be one more step towards Ted's dream of a degreed facility management program at Oklahoma State University.
