World Workplace 2005 was held October 23rd – 25th in Philadelphia, PA. There were six attendees from the Tulsa chapter and two attendees from the OSU student chapter. Attending from the Tulsa chapter were Tony Lenox, Debbi Bennett, Harold Gilbert, Ted Webb, Brian Bennett and Craig Hime.
Attending from the OSU student chapter were Leslie Bartos and Melissa Morris.
This year’s theme was IFMA’s 25 th anniversary. At the Welcome Reception, a picture of the Tulsa Driller that the chapter sent in to IFMA especially for that event represented the Tulsa chapter. The picture of the Driller flashed periodically on an overhead screen with other pictures representing each chapter. Earlier in the day, chapter member and Education Chairman, Ted Webb, carried the chapter sign from the opening keynote address downstairs to the opening of the Expo.
For the past 5 years the chapter has hosted a dinner on the Monday night of World Workplace. This year the chapter held their dinner at Maggiano’s Little Italy. A guest of IFMA that Ted met at World Workplace from the Oklahoma City area joined us for a wonderful dinner.
Attendance at World Workplace was at an all time high this year with over 8,000 IFMA members and their guests attending along with all those who participated in the Expo. For the first time ever, the Expo sold out and actually ended up adding three more booths.
Next year World Workplace moves to San Diego and it promises to be a fun and educational time. See you there.
