The 2012 IFMA Tulsa golf tournament was another rousing success. Every foursome and every sponsorship was sold out weeks before the tournament, making this year's tournament one of the most successful ever. The weather held up most of the day and there was only a brief period of rain late in the afternoon.
Even with the teams sold out, the first team was back in the clubhouse under five hours due in part to a new feature this year...picking up at par, easing concerns that a sold out tournament would run too long.
Representatives from The Little Light House were once again on hand to sell mulligans and representatives from the IFMA OSU student chapter helped out with the games on the course. Attending from OSU were Katie Cole, Crystal Holland, Justine Hall, Meghan Jones and Hannah Keffer. The IFMA Tulsa Golf Tournament was specifically created to benefit The Little Light House, the IFMA OSU student chapter and the IFMA Tulsa chapter. The Little Light House is a non-profit school that is run strictly through donations and the IFMA Tulsa chapter has been proud to be a supporter of this wonderful school for learning disabled children for many years. Funds going to the OSU student chapter have helped the students attend events like IFMA's World Workplace and other leadership events. Funds going to the local chapter have also help fund some of these same type of events.
Plans are already being made for next year's tournament and a date has been locked in. The IFMA Tulsa chapter appreciates the participation and support of all the sponsors and players that make this event a success each year. Without them and leadership from within our chapter, specifically the golf tournament committee, we would not be able to put on this tremendous event. Thanks to our tournament chairman this year, Doug Padgett, and especially committee member Denise Thornton with ABM Janitorial who, year after year. gives a large amount of her time to make the tournament more successful each year.
