IFMA Tulsa’s annual “IFMA After Hours” was held this year at the Mid-Continent Tower compliments of IFMA Tulsa member Indrek Redard with Argue Properties. Argue Properties manages and leases the building. They have an area on the 15th floor that is used for special events and this is where the IFMA After Hours event was held.
A special, once a year event, IFMA After Hours was created to showcase the products and services offered by the chapter’s Associate members to the chapter’s end users, the Professional members.
This year’s event took on a new, unique twist. Incorporating the ideas of chapter member Sharon Marrs along with Programs Chair Mark Cohlmia, and in conjunction with Ehrle’s Party & Carnival Supply, the 15th floor of the Mid-Continent Building was turned into not only a venue for a trade show, but also incuded a carnival theme and atmosphere. Utilizing 16 games that were rented from Ehrle’s, each Associate member had the opportunity to feature one of the games at their table. In addtion to the games, to promote the carnival theme, the food that was provided by the caterer included hot dogs, corn dogs, hamburger/cheeseburger sliders and lemonade. Other food items included pop corn from The Corn Popper and caramel apples compliments of Jessica Robinson with Western Waterproofing.
Furthering the carnival theme, attendees were treated to Bubba who was portrayed by Tropical Plant Design’s Mark Cohlmia and Bubbles the Clown portrayed by Workplace Resource’s Stephanie Pugh. The Bubba character seemed to be inspired by Mark’s days traveling as a carney at state fairs while Stephanie’s character was inspired by her days with the circus.
Thanks go out to Mark, Sharon, Stephanie, Kathy Hefley, Tom Seifired, Tony Lenox and all those who made IFMA After Hours a rousing success. It will be hard to top next year.
