IFMA After Hours: Summit Club

Summit Club

This annual IFMA After Hours was held on June 26th at the Summit Club.  IFMA After Hours was created to allow Associate members the opportunity to show off their products and services to the Professional members in a relaxed atmosphere.  Each year the chapter has tried a different approach to the event and this year was no different.

Each participating Associate member was given a table to display their promotional literature.  The Associate members were encouraged to also bring promotional hand-out items and do periodic door prize giveaways over the course of the evening.  One example of a promotional hand-out was The Facility Group logo golf balls in sleeves of three.  This was to promote IFMA Tulsa’s upcoming golf tournament.  ABM Janitorial brought some fine wine as door prizes.  Other companies donated door prizes that were also given out over the course of the evening.  This year’s concept was for the Professional members to move from table to table over a two hour period and spend time visiting with each Associate member.  At a previous IFMA After Hours held at the Summit Club it was reversed and the Associate members moved from table to table visiting with the Professional members in a speed dating atmosphere along with a stop watch.

Food and drink was provided by the chapter.  IFMA members were encouraged to invite guests and we had an outstanding number attend. Eighteen guests were present and one lucky guest was the recipient of a year’s membership in IFMA.  The winner was Wade Bell, a facility manager with Rosemont Realty and the guest of Scott Mitchell.  Congratulations to Wade and welcome to IFMA!  Guests were encouraged to put their business card in a bowl and Wade’s name was drawn.  One of our newest members is Beckie Shephard with BRAVO! Building Services who was also a guest at IFMA After Hours.  Beckie learned about the event from our chapter web site,

Many thanks to program chair Doug Martin and co-chair Jackie Ball for putting together this great event.
