This month’s meeting featured a tour of the new OSU-Tulsa Helmerich Advanced Technology Research Center. This new facility houses laboratories for faculty and graduate students who will develop the next generation of composites and materials used by many Oklahoma industries.
Funds for the facility were provided from three sources: $30 million from Tulsa County’s Vision 2025, $12.9 million from the state’s higher education bond issue and $9 million from Walter and Peggy Helmerich of Tulsa.
Construction of the facility was completed in the late fall of 2007. Dewberry Design Group was the architect of the facility and Flintco served as the construction manager.
Our thanks to Dr. Paulette Hebert, department head of the Design, Housing and Merchandising department of the College of Human Environmental Sciences at Oklahoma State University, for coordinating this month’s program and tour.
